Let us introduce ourselves....

Hi we’re Brett and Holly! We are hoping to adopt our third child. Let us tell you a little about our family.

Brett: I am six feet tall, and have green eyes, light brown hair, and a thin build. I have 5 sisters and no brothers (when not counting brothers-in-law). As far as my hobbies go, I like a hundred different things and want to become familiar with a hundred more!

Some of the things I really like include snow skiing, basketball, wood working, art, computers, animals, and my garden! I have also spent a lot of time learning to speak, read, and write Chinese. My absolute favorite hobby, however, is spending time with Holly, Laney, and Caleb. They are my best friends.

Holly: I am about 5' 6", 125#, and have brown hair and brown eyes. I am the oldest of 8 kids (5 boys and 3 girls). I enjoy singing and playing the piano, reading, and eating ice cream on the couch (especially with fresh raspberries - yum!). I like swimming, family hikes, and I can make a pretty mean 'foil dinner' when we go camping. (I also really like going out to eat - hint for Brett! ha ha).

Laney & Caleb

Brett and Holly: We have two beautiful adopted children, Laney & Caleb. Laney is 9 years old and has a ‘sparkling’ personality! She is all about High School Musical and anything pink. Caleb is our 6 year-old, and is into swimming, karate, and scotch tape – he sticks it onto everything!

Laney & Caleb are best friends, and we are crazy about them! They have wanted a little brother or sister for a long time. We have had a wonderful experience adopting both our children. We have written lots of letters to their birthmothers, and have really enjoyed it. We long to have another child in our home, and hope you will consider us to be your baby’s adoptive parents.

Family Fun!

Brett: After having multiple different jobs (pest control, asphalt worker, cement worker, mail clerk, etc) I decided I wanted to become a doctor. I have worked hard for several years in order to realize this goal. It was pretty tough. Holly did a great job helping me get through those times.

Holly: Before we adopted, I worked in a pediatric clinic and saw children and their parents every day. And while I’m so glad I got my education, I don’t have any big career goals. Staying at home and raising a family is what is most important to me. One of my favorite times of day is when Laney and Caleb get off the bus after a long day of school and run right into my arms for a big hug! I’m really grateful that Brett makes a living that allows me to choose to stay home.

Extended Family

Brett and Holly: We have been married for 16 years and have a very loving relationship. Both of us are lucky to come from strong family backgrounds, and we keep in close contact with our families. They are all extremely excited about the possibility of us adopting a little brother or sister for Laney and Caleb in the near future.

Our Feelings About Adoption

Holly: When we first started trying to have a baby and things weren’t working out, I was nervous that we might not ever get pregnant. I can’t even describe how I felt when the doctors told us it was true: we could not have children on our own. I was crushed—I couldn’t believe this was happening to us. I felt isolated from everyone around me. It’s really hard to be “the different one”—maybe you understand that too.

I can only say that I’m grateful that adoption is possible! Adoption is the only way I can be a mother. And I feel an overwhelming gratitude to our birthmothers, who have given us their ultimate trust in order to do what they feel is best for their babies.

Brett: In my life, the miracle of adoption has brought me so much joy. Playing with my kids is the best time of my day.

[Holly: Brett really is fun to watch with the kids. He’s such a kid himself, I can’t help but laugh!]

Brett: I am grateful to you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. This is something Holly and I have wanted badly, but have been completely unable to do ourselves.

Hopes for the Future

Brett and Holly: Our hope is to have a family where everyone enjoys being with each other, having lots of laughs, lots of hugs, and lots of kisses. When the difficult times come, we draw closer and help each other find joy in life. We do our best to raise our children with patience and love.

We know we cannot fully understand what it is you have had to go through to get where you are now, but we suspect that it has not been easy. We share in the pain that you have gone through. We are grateful for your bravery in carrying this child, and look forward to meeting with you if you would like to learn more about our family.

Love, Brett and Holly (with Laney and Caleb)
